There are lots of women in important leadership roles in the PC(USA) right now. This is one of the most promising signs of vitality in our denomination. Here are 14 female Presbyterian leaders I have worked on projects with and who have made me a better pastor. Who would you add?
- Karen Sapio, Head of Staff, Claremont Presbyterian Church (and my colleague)
- Wendy Tajima, Presbytery Executive, Presbytery of San Gabriel
- Ruth Santana-Grace, Presbytery Executive, Philadelphia Presbytery
- Millason Dailey, Associate Pastor, Calvary Presbyterian Church of South Pasadena
- Becca Bateman, Associate Pastor, San Marino Community Church
- Jessica Tate, National Director, NEXT Church
- Mihee Kim-Kort, Director of Ukirk, Bloomington, IN, author
- Carla Pratt-Keyes, Pastor, Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, Richmond, VA
- Doska Ross, Synod Executive, Synod of The Pacific
- Erin Thomas, Co-Pastor, Calvary Presbyterian Church, Riverside, California
- Marci Auld Glass, Pastor, Southminster Presbyterian Church, Boise, Idaho, and Co-Moderator of The Covenant Network of Presbyterians
- Chineta Goodjoin, Pastor of New Hope Church, a Presbyterian New Worshipping Community in Santa Ana, CA
- Libby Shannon, Associate Chaplain, Eckerd College, and Co-Moderator of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship
- Jana Blazek, Associate Editor, The Presbyterian Outlook
That’s a good list. I’d also add, Rev. Heidi Bolt. She’s my wife and I’m biased.
You are wise in your bias, Greg.
Sandy Tice of course!
I agree wholeheartedly with Sandy Tice’s inclusion. I would also add Elizabeth Nordquist.
Wow. Totally humbled to be in this group. Would also add Jan Edmiston – who is practically the entire connectional church in a single Presbyterian.
Yes! Jan Edmiston. I would add Laura Cheifetz.
Traci Smith, author of Seamless Faith: Simple Practices for Daily Family Life
Shawna Bowman. Wonderful artistic vision and a wonderful spirit.
Privileged and humbled to be on this list. Thank you, Rocky.
Marci Auld Glass. Yes. And I would add MaryAnn McKibben Dana.
Thanks for all the adds. I limited my list to people I have actually worked on projects with.
Jill Duffield
I’d definitely add Theresa Cho and Mary Paik to my list.
I’d like to thank you for the efforts you’ve put in writing this blog.
I’m hoping to view the same high-grade blog posts from you later on as well.
In fact, your creative writing abilities has inspired
me to get my own, personal website now 😉
Rocky, I would add Alison Harrington at Southside Presbyterian in Tucson, AZ. If you haven’t already worked on a project with her, then it’s time to do so. 🙂

We worked at that church on a Borderlinks mission trip in 2009!
Excellent!
